Growing from 70 members in 1986 to our present membership, IDEA still shows its same strong sense of purpose and continues to work at its three main goals set out back in 1986. They are….

  1. To encourage a high standard of enforcement of federal and state narcotics laws through training, education and discipline;
  2. To participate in programs to educate the public concerning the hazards of drug abuse;
  3. To promote improved laws aimed at more effective drug enforcement and
  4. To foster a spirit of trust and cooperation among all police officers and law enforcement agencies — federal, state, and local.
